Fees

Why is there a gap fee?

Your health and wellbeing are important.

At Pulse Medical we pride ourselves on providing high quality care. High quality care takes time, effort and money.

Up until recently doctors at Pulse Medical have accepted Medicare rebates as full fees for the services they provide. Part of this fee helps pay for practice costs such as employing receptionists and nurses, meet operating costs such as rent, medical equipments, electricity, computers, cleaning etc.

Unfortunately, we have reached a point where your Medicare rebates do not cover the rising costs of providing you with care. This is because successive governments have failed to increase YOUR rebate over past 10 years such that it can keep up with the increasing expenses and cost of living.

The Medicare rebate freeze means that we can no longer bulk bill all our patients.

We charge a gap fee for our service as we do not wish to provide a conveyor-belt medicine where you are just another person who is in and out in few minutes.

A thorough assessment and accurate treatment reduces your suffering, alleviates your anxieties, and improves your long-term health and productivity.

This also saves you time and money, instead of having to take longer time off work or visit doctors repeatedly.
